ESports platform Faceit lands $15 million investment

U.K.-based eSports startup Faceit has landed a $15 million investment as it expands with a new Los Angeles office.

The company's platform lets players participate in ongoing tournaments and win prizes as they play. It currently supports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends, with Dota 2 support in beta.

According to the company, it already has more than 3 million users. The company ran a CS:GO league at the Dreamhack tournament late last year. Anthos Capital, Index Ventures, and United Ventures contributed to the company's $15 million Series A round.

Global eSports revenue rose to $325 million in 2015, with analyst firm Newzoo estimating that number will hit $463 million for 2016. Numbers like these explain investments in companies like Faceit.Come from VPbet
